Saturday 30th July 2016, 7.30pm
Kendal Parish Church
Here is Clive Walkley's review of our performance of "The Dream of Gerontius", published in the Westmorland Gazette on 4th August, together with some photographs taken on the night.
To launch Cumbria Festival Chorus and to open the 2016 Lake District Summer Music Festival, we will present our inaugural event, a performance of Elgar's wonderful Dream of Gerontius. We will be joined by three superb soloists and one of the finest orchestras in the North West, the Northern Chamber Orchestra.
Tickets price £16 (under-18s/students/unwaged half-price) from LDSM's website or at the door.
Soloists:
Joyce Tindsley (mezzo-soprano) as the Angel, Joshua Ellicott (tenor - Gerontius) and Alex Ashworth (bass-baritone as the Priest and the Angel of the Agony)
with The Northern Chamber Orchestra and Amabile Girls' Choir (the Angelicals)
